Today I woke up feeling tired, and unmotivated. I woke up groggy and unexcited. It happens to all of us, and Im no different to anyone else.
I have a lot of work to get done including coaching sessions, skype calls, and work with my other 2 businesses. I just wanted to stay in bed. Look at the ceiling, and not have it be a day.
I could of stayed in bed later and lazed around, rolled out of bed and went straight to the laptop to start working, but now, I know that this way of being is incredibly disrespectful to myself, and actually makes me sick and lazy. It stops me from showing up within my most open and efficient self.
Rather than picking the easy and comfortable way 'just this 1 time', I chose discipline, because I know from my own life experience, once I start leaning into my own tension, my body, mind, health, and productivity for that day skyrockets very quickly.
I did not stay in bed, even though that is all I wanted.
I begrudgingly threw myself out of bed.
I begrudgingly laid out my yoga mat.
I begrudgingly did 30 minutes of yoga.
I noticed, I felt much better when I had finished. Not as lazy, not as down.
Then, I sat down to send some emails I REALLY needed to reply to, but I stopped myself, closed the laptop, stood up, walked to the kitchen, made a green smoothy, and forced myself to leave the house for a 4k run 30 minutes later.
Now I am back, showered, and feeling AMAZING! I am alive, awake, useful, impactful, relaxed, but focused. My body feels open and applicable to the day. My breathe is deep because my lungs are open and exercised. My body, mind, energy, purpose, is all aligned.
I can now interact with my day from the best version of myself.
How many times in your daily life do you avoid doing that which you know is good for you?
Leaning into tension everyday is the secret of the men on this planet who are hugely successful and happy within their lives. These men know to SEEK tension out, and step into it as much as possible.
You see, the more tension you choose to step into, the wider your capacity for tension becomes in every area of your life. You begin to quickly bypass the control and conditioning of the status quo, as you now know the secret.
Leaning into your edge can be anything. It can be getting up immediately once your alarm goes off, rather than laying in bed scrolling through your phone in the dark.
It can be choosing to go and say hello to the pretty girl you see in the grocery store.
It can be choosing to speak up and share your opinion in a social interaction.
When you stop interacting negatively with the 'outcome', and instead focus on seeing everything around you as a playground to expand your vessel of tension, life will open up. You will open up.
Also, I must say that a man who plays in the land of tension is magnetically attractive to women. He lives in his edge.
Every time you avoid tension, due to how it makes you feel, all you are communicating with yourself is i'm not worth it.
You KNOW you will feel better once you show up, and step into it, but you sulk and avoid it. I have no time for sulkers anymore. I have come to terms with the fact I cannot save everyone, nor do I want to. All i can do is hold out a rope of support, experience and guidance, to the men who are ready and want it.
You are either on your side or not.
